Profile

Ever since I first picked up a pencil, I've had a passion for the arts—including photography, painting, and film. I am also a computer nerd, and graphic design seems like the natural intersection of these two passions. My skills do not only lie in the arts, however, as I also have a very analytical mind, and a BSc in Biology hanging next to my graphic design diploma to prove it. This melding of left and right brain thinking is what makes me a valuable designer.

I am particularly interested in web design and usability, and one of my strengths as a web designer is that I have also managed to build a solid knowledge of programming as my interest in this area has grown. I believe that having a fundamental understanding of web programming leads to a better web designer, and results in more usable, functional websites. That being said, I am also very interested in branding and print work, and my skill set rests comfortably between these two areas of design.

Recently I have expanded my digital conquests to iPhone and desktop app development, and produced all of the graphics for a Mahjongg solitaire game called Ivory. This has become a particular area of interest for me, and I hope to continue designing apps and other digital projects that move beyond the web.
